Came here on a Tuesday night with a reservation and it was super fast to get seated!
Good:
- Unique dishes and takes on things - had a super pretty guac and chips $16 was too much to pay for it though, the chips were super oily and fried which I did like though
- I liked the spinach enchilada, but the initial taste is a little pungent and not super appetizing, the more you eat the tastier it gets!
- The overall vibe was nice for a friend catchup! The food tastes more healthy than others.
Bad:
- Super pricey - spent about $40 a person for a simple appetizer and 1 entree.
Overall this place was good, but due to price, I probably won't go again.
Great, prompt service. Loved the decor. Lot's of taco options. Ordered the Burrito and Quesadilla. Both are big enough to share. Both of these were incredibly delicious. Also the chips and salsa were very good. Super fair prices too. Check this place out!
Great tacos & Burritos! We ordered cod, shrimp, spicy fried chicken, pork belly & steak 5-taco. I like spicy fried chicken and pork belly. Pull pork burrito is also delicious!
Really nice tacos, quite fresh, and large filling. Ambience was great, and the order was quite timely. Not as crowded during weekday lunch hours. They also have a bar, so the combination of tacos and alcohol could be interesting. Situated at a great location, near the Bart stop. +1 for the vibe of the place.
I rarely if ever go out of my way to give bad/low reviews since most of the time they are average at best. However, do not let the picture fool you, I am surprised how they made something have so much and so little taste at the same time.
My taste buds were confused because though there was a seemingly plentiful amount of flavor profiles at play, from the carne asada to the guacamole to the cilantro and everything in between, there was a plentiful amount of nothing. I don't know if I've experienced this before.
Outside of that the atmosphere was fantastic, very friendly staff that are attentive to you during your time. I cannot say anything about their cocktail selection.
The hidden gem in a big city.
With a deep love of his culture, the owner fulfills a modern and complex take of traditional Mexican fare. Truly original recipes reinvigorate the senses and add more value to old traditions. A vibrant interior, coupled with genuine hospitality was only in addition to their enticing menu. Nothing was overlooked, as every detail in each drink and dish was given full attention. Even seemingly insignificant items like free chips and salsa were upholstered to fresh deep fried tortilla chips and heated fresh salsa.
The tacos are a must have. They are creative, modern, and complex, but still give honor their historical counterpart.
I hope that nobody just sees this as another Mexican restaurant. It is so much more, deserving your attention, in bringing new life and flavor to the classic Mexican food you love.
After a day of feeling defeated and searching for some good food we ended up here and we were so happy. Our waiter Mario was absolutely amazing. They were so great with any modifications and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a good dinner.
Phenomenal tacos and service. It's easy to go "what? $10 for a taco?" But these tacos are exceptional.
We've been a few times, but Mario's service today prompted me to write the review. If you want high-quality, no-nonsense, premium tacos.and margaritas in Mission Bay, this is your spot.
